Steak Soup
1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Flour
60 ounces Beef Consomme
1 Cup Diced Carrots
1 Cup Sliced Celery
1 Cup Diced Potatoes
1 Onion, Chopped
16 ounce Can Tomatoes
Sweet Basil
Salt and Pepper to Taste
10 ounces Frozen Corn
10 ounces Frozen Peas
1 1/2 pounds Ground Chuck, Browned with the Chopped Onion
Melt butter, stirring flour to make a smooth paste.
Continue to stir 3 minutes.
Add consomme and stir until slightly thickened.
Add browned chuck.
Add fresh and canned vegetables and seasonings.
Simmer 30 minutes.
Add frozen vegetables and heat through.
